I'm a long-term student embarking on graduate studies in clinical (forensic) psychology at Ryerson University starting in September...also a half-crazed workaholic who spends her spare time seeking more stressors, a musician with no working musical instruments, and an oversensitive wimp who repeatedly places herself in easily-criticized positions.

It's hard to say what mark this paper would have warranted - indeed, if he was writing this paper for an upper-level psychology class, he would have failed the paper for not citing a single clear reference. However, many Arts classes don't require references in their papers, and this is evidently a short paper rather than a long formal essay.
Also the teacher is a total asshole, and shouldn't be teaching - even if he is reacting to a lack of ability to follow instructions (citing sources, submitting a paper that's too short, whatever), the most he should have said was "come see me to discuss your work," not "drop the class/at least you spelled your name right." That's just hostile and unnecessary.
P.S. I'm just assuming that the essay and the comments aren't faked, because considering the alternative will just make my head hurt and end with me taking an angry nap.

Can you imagine how good this field would smell? If I could have 3 wishes, one of them might be to have a lavender field like this in my back yard, so I could go back there with a lounge chair and just nap the afternoon away....
Maybe not a field THIS big, though. Maybe just the 300 square feet surrounding that tree......that'd do.

~ Semipolitico: Mini-Feature ~
Okay so I don't regularly do mini-features. Well, now I do. Which is probably something that will last about a week, as I'm pretty easily distracted. Anyways, the next three posts deal with a Chapel Hill-based political blog that caught my eye today, and its creators.

I think this blog is pretty great - balanced, not particularly fanatical, and insightful. Also, I love the piece on Obama and his rock-star qualities. The author is quite correct that, while Obama's charisma and the air of change that hangs about him might get him elected once, he'll have to be good to his word and earn the trust of a VERY jaded population in order to maintain that star power. Fortunately, I think he's an honest guy, so things may just turn out okay for Barack.

Here - Semipolitico's other contributor, Ryan, has found me :) Ryan wrote the article about Obama's charisma (which I gauge at about +7, easily Epic-level). You'll find the link to the article in question a bit further down in my blog. In any case, welcome, and keep up the good work on Semipolitico!

Bid a warm welcome to John, new stumbler and writer for semipolitico.com, a site which I've reviewed below (though I think John's friend wrote the Obama article I focused on). Anyways, here is a man of mature political thoughts! Rare these days, on either side of the coin. Good start on your stumble blog, too (now all you need are some photos!)

Wait - Dion's plan to impose import tariffs on countries that aren't fighting global warming would enrage NAFTA, the WTO, and the G8? Now THERE, my friends, is a leadership candidate with balls - something Canada desperately needs right now. My respect for Dion just went way up.

Mugabe's Palace of Obscenity. I can only describe it as breathtakingly abhorrent. Its very beauty and extravagance is a slap in the face to each and every citizen of Zimbabwe. Read the article.
