Sweet, it's like Final Fantasy, but with the presidential candidates.
And just the fact that a commenter would equate hope with childishness/cheesiness is an indication of how truly sad the U.S. situation has become. "Fools! There IS no such thing as hope! Even 6-year-olds know that hope is just a lame fantasy!" God, the sadness is almost unbearable.
Obama IS giving me reason to hope again - I don't care who thinks that's lame, or whether or not anyone thinks Canadians are entitled to such intense interest in U.S. politics. If Obama can be taken at face value, and is not some sort of perplexing wolf in charismatic, trust-inspiring clothing, I'll finally be able to sleep at night, something which has been difficult with GWB at the helm.
